Under Contract: Madeleine Albright's Georgetown Home Finds a Buyer
In this week's installment of Under Contract, UrbanTurf highlights a couple of homes that recently went under contract, including the Georgetown home of the late Madeline Albright.
Four Days For a Mid-Century Modern Next to American University
Located on a lot next to American University, this mid-century modern home hadn't been on the market in sixty years, but found a buyer in under a week. With the exception of a few updates for modern conveniences, the design and finishes haven't been touched - and still exude a classic feel. UrbanTurf's favorite feature of the home is the library, with floor-to-ceiling shelving, backed by wood panels. The bedrooms are all fairly spacious and the primary suite includes two closets and an en-suite bathroom with colorful tiles.

10 Days For Madeleine Albright's Georgetown Home
The late Madeleine Albright's four-bedroom home along 34th Street hit the market about a week and a half ago, and went under contract last Thursday. The former U.S. Secretary of State's four-bedroom townhouse is listed for $4 million; she bought the home with he ex-husband for around $100,000 in 1968. The 4,000 square-foot listing has a large patio and garden, as well as an oversized two-car garage that was "repurposed for diplomatic security", according to The Wall Street Journal.
