For this edition of Under Contract, UrbanTurf revisits three recently-featured listings that went under contract within one day, five days, and 13 days after hitting the market.
One Day for a One-Bedroom Rowhouse
As one of the last five remaining one-bedroom rowhouses designed by architect Charles Gessford in Lincoln Park, it makes sense that this singular house would find a buyer after being on the market for just 24 hours. Originally created as workforce housing, the house has square footage akin to a studio but retains a deceptively efficient layout. The main living area has an airy feel due to its 11 foot-tall, skylit tray ceiling and a pair of door-framed mirrors that face each other and reflect the light coming in from the glass front door. The galley pass-through kitchen has stacked square cabinets, and the bedroom beyond has a combo washer/dryer and a closet beneath a storage cubby. Sliding glass doors in the bedroom lead out to a fenced-in patio with access to a parking pad.

Two Weeks for Turn of the Century Style
This spacious late 19th-century Hyattsville house went under contract 13 days after being listed. The home enjoys a pillared front porch, reclaimed hardwood floors, and original windows, as well as interesting details on the main level, like recessed shelving in a decorative door frame beneath a transom window in the hallway. The family room has a brick fireplace, and each of the doorways to the dual-entry kitchen have stained glass transoms. Both the kitchen and the living room have skylights, and the latter room also has a horizontal brick panel and a standalone fireplace, along with paned glass doors out onto a platform deck surrounded by a spacious yard. The house also has a 420 square-foot lower level and a detached studio.

Five Days for Takoma Park Corner Bungalow
This corner lot bungalow in Takoma Park also has a pillared front porch, and its interior is appointed with prominent wood framing. Post-and-lintels create open sightlines and built-ins beneath pass-throughs in the main living area, including an open floor-to-ceiling hutch that replaces a doorway at the dining room. Where the dining room has a pass-through window to the kitchen, a commercial hood floats above the Viking range, while on the opposite wall, glass shelves are fitted into the window above the sink. Beams float beneath the vaulted ceiling in the owner's bedroom upstairs, which also has access to a private balcony. The house also has a large rear deck and a spacious lawn.
