Trader Joe's Confirmed For New Glover Park Development

Rendering of 2101 Wisconsin Avenue NW
The rumors have been swirling for years, but news comes today that seems to confirm that Trader Joe’s is coming to Glover Park.
Eat DC tweeted earlier today that Trader Joe’s has filled a liquor license application for 2101 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map), the former Holiday Inn site that is being transformed into a 225-unit development from JBG. The Holiday Inn closed in late 2015, and JBG acquired the leasehold interest in the property from 2101 Wisconsin Associates LLP in June of last year.

A Trader Joe’s at this location will mean that there will be three grocery stores in about a five-block stretch along Wisconsin Avenue NW — Whole Foods (which is closed as of now) sits about two blocks north of the new Trader Joe’s location and Safeway sits one block to the south.
