Exclusive: JBG Plans 225-Unit Project at Georgetown Holiday Inn Site

Rendering of 2101 Wisconsin Avenue NW
The JBG Companies has big plans on the boards for the northern edge of Georgetown.
UrbanTurf has learned that the development firm and Eric Colbert & Associates will redevelop the former site of the Holiday Inn at 2101 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map) into a by-right mixed-use development with 225 residences and 20,000 square feet of retail. The Holiday Inn closed late last year, and JBG acquired the leasehold interest in the property from 2101 Wisconsin Associates LLP in June.
JBG tells UrbanTurf that no retail leases have been signed for the site, but there have been rumors that a grocery store could anchor the project. The unit mix will range from studios all the way up to four-bedroom apartments.

The development team will take the proposal to ANC 3B in November. Construction could start in the first quarter of 2017.
For a neighborhood not known for new large-scale residential projects, this was a big week for Georgetown. On Monday, we reported that a 54-unit condo development is planned for Water Street.
