Real estate agents have complained to UrbanTurf that their offices are drab, uninviting and remind clients of the 1980s, not 2009.
Well, for all of you out there looking for a change, Intero Real Estate Services has created the 21st century real estate office.
“Change is tough on people, but we think we have created something interesting and different, unlike the traditional real estate office,” Intero CEO Gino Blefari told UrbanTurf. “Andare is the name of the model (Italian word meaning ‘to go’) because we feel like real estate agents are always running around, and are not spending nearly as much time at their desks as they did ten years ago.”

The Andare model replaces the cubicle-filled office concept in favor of an open floor plan with a large central work area. There are also leather couches and other amenities to make clients feel comfortable. The maximum size of the model is typically about 3,000 square feet. The Andare is also outfitted with a number of high-tech features like tablet PCs, keyless entry, Voice over IP (VoIP), flat screen plasma TVs, and a high speed Wi–Fi network. It uses web–based transaction management software that gives agents the ability to manage entire client files online.

Intero opened the first Andare office in San Jose, California in 2007 and now has six offices scattered around the state. Its focus is to sell the model on a national level through regional sales people. However, that doesn’t mean if a small DC office is interested they are going to be turned away.
“If someone wanted to buy an individual office in Georgetown, we’d absolutely do it,” Jose Perez of PCMS Consulting told UrbanTurf.
