The Most Unique Home to Hit the Market in 2022: DC's Narrow House

It's that time of year again when UrbanTurf reflects on some of the DC area's most interesting real estate topics from the last 12 months. This week, we refresh your memory on some of the best, most intriguing and most peculiar things we came across throughout 2022. Enjoy.
Designed by owner Dr. Djahanguir Darvish, The Narrow Home along Foxhall Road lives up to its name: it rises three stories and is just 18 feet wide. The home was constructed in 1985 around a small red house at the address, the remnants of which can be seen in the red walls of the home.
The three-bedroom listing is filled with interesting curves and angles given its unique design and layout. One of UrbanTurf's favorite areas is the back room that has floor-to-ceiling glass on three sides and lives like a patio.
While the Foxhall house is indeed narrow, it is not the tightest that UrbanTurf has seen in the city. Nine years ago, we covered a Georgetown home that measured at just 8 feet across.
The Foxhall home was listed for sale in July, and after a price reduction, was pulled off the market in the fall. For more photos below.
