The Collection: 8 New, Luxury Condos Come to South Chevy Chase
In south Chevy Chase DC, a neighborhood that feels equal parts urban and suburban, new condo developments are few and far between. In fact, it’s been nearly a decade since the neighborhood welcomed a new, luxury condo development. But this fall, The Collection will change that when it opens on Connecticut Avenue (map).
The Collection spans two four-story buildings and was developed by local architects Madhur Khanna and Anil Bhatia of A + E Collective. Each building includes four two-bedroom, 2.5-bath units ranging in size from 1,500 to 2,000 square feet. 5109 Connecticut Avenue NW is already complete and move-in ready; 5105 Connecticut Avenue NW will be move-in ready by mid-November. All eight condos are now selling and two models are currently available for tours by appointment or at weekly open houses (Saturdays and Sundays from noon-4pm).
Khanna and Bhatia specialize in designing large custom homes, and infused The Collection with a level of bespoke detail and careful, contemporary design that one does not expect in a new condo building. Among the finishes and features are white lacquered cabinetry (personally sourced during a trip to Italy); oversized two-tone islands with Caesarstone countertops; Bosch appliances, including a double wall oven; hidden over-sink drying racks; walk-in pantries and wine cellars; large, smart storage spaces; under-cabinet lighting; and 5” wide pre-finished hardwood flooring in almost all rooms.
Each condo occupies its own floor, so even the ground-floor residences are flooded with natural light from front to back. Four of the upper units also have a bay window, and many of the units include dens and outdoor spaces, in the form of balconies and patios. The two penthouse units feature 400-square-foot roof decks, as well as private elevators and 20-foot ceilings. All units come with private parking. Pricing for homes at The Collection ranges from $795,000 to $1.4 million.
Chevy Chase is home to many restaurants and shops, including Politics & Prose Bookstore, Macon Bistro & Larder, Neiman Marcus, Buck's Fishing & Camping, Bread & Chocolate, Saks 5th Avenue, Comet Ping Pong and Jetties. The Collection, which sits near the popular intersection of Nebraska and Connecticut Avenues, is located less than a block from both Politics & Prose, Buck's Fishing & Camping and Comet Ping Pong.
