Yesterday, the Cleveland Park Twitter account highlighted that the theater had applied to sell alcoholic beverages.
Built in 1936, the 800-seat Uptown Theater closed in March 2020 as operator AMC's lease came to an end. It is one of the only single screen movie theaters remaining in the city and has been host to movie premieres like Jurassic Park and 2001: A Space Odyssey over the years.
Blake-Dickson Real Estate Services is representing Landmark Theatres in the transaction.
