Smith | Schnider Has a Reputation for Strong Sales, No Matter the Market

The bond that led to the formation of Smith | Schnider was forged during dark times in the local real estate market.
The Residences at Liberty Center condominiums in Arlington were off to a fast start with 180 commitments to buy before the building even opened in 2008. Then the market plummeted. All but 20 buyers canceled.
Ron Smith, Marty Schnider and Julie Zelaska banded together and sold out the building, triumphing over the worst recession in modern times.
Nearly a decade later, Smith | Schnider opened for business, the three joining forces again. They deliver sales and marketing services for condominium developers, as well as custom single-family home builders.
The team at Smith | Schnider has experience developing, selling and marketing high-profile properties in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC.

Smith brings more than three decades of experience in condominium development, sales and marketing, exceeding $3.5 billion in revenue for landmark residential projects in the Mid-Atlantic.
Schnider, another founding principal, comes from a family whose history in the Washington, DC, real estate market dates back nearly a century. Schnider has developed apartments, condominiums, single-family homes and commercial properties. He continues to run the day-to-day affairs of the Fred Schnider Investment Group, founded by his grandfather in the 1930s.

Julie Zelaska is a principal and executive vice president. She has more than 20 years of experience working for the region’s top firms and delivering strategic planning, sales and marketing expertise for projects like Liberty Center, Turnberry Tower and The Clara Barton.
