In DC, one would be hard pressed to find a street more chock full with new residential and restaurant activity than 14th Street NW between P and W Streets.
Rendering of District Condos
With backhoes ready to start moving ground today for the construction of District Condos, a 125-unit project at 14th and S Streets, news comes from 14th and You on the progress of various restaurant openings and expansions along the hot avenue.
In short, the 14th Street blog writes that the expansion of Bar Pilar is moving forward, the new Jeff Black seafood restaurant planned for 1612 14th Street NW is on hold pending a hearing on January 19th, and the planned Italian restaurant for the former shirt laundry at the intersection of 14th and Q is also currently “on hold.” No word on when Peregrine Coffee will open its location at 1718 14th Street NW (it is scheduled to open this winter) or what will become of the former HR-57 location at 1610 14th Street NW.
In residential news, UrbanTurf has heard rumblings that a small new condo development could be coming to the vicinity. We hope to have more specifics on that project soon.
