Redfin Switches to Service That Offers More Foreclosure Data
If you were perusing the new listings section of the DC Redfin website on Wednesday night, then you probably saw a slew of foreclosures flood the site at about 8pm. While these properties were not supposed to show up in the new listings section (a bug that the company is in the process of fixing), Redfin has switched to a new service that provides users with information on about seven times as many foreclosed properties (that have not yet been listed for sale) as the previous service it was using.
From the Redfin corporate blog:
The change we made yesterday increased our coverage of pre-listed foreclosed homes from under 10,000 properties to more than 80,000. This change also provides a more complete picture of each individual home. For instance, we now show the auction price and date for many foreclosed homes — these are the results of failed auctions that have already taken place.
New foreclosure listing
Hundreds of foreclosed properties were added to the DC site last night. To view them, click on “More Options” under the search box at the top of this page, and check the “Foreclosed Homes” option on the lower left column.
