Plans appear to be moving forward for a new apartment building with an interesting shape in DC's Brightwood neighborhood.
A raze application was filed this week for a new four-story plus penthouse apartment building with 20-22 apartments at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Kennedy Street NW (map). The existing building at the site will be demolished to make way for the new project.

"The second through fourth floors of the building will contain residential units and will form an 'H' shape to maximize light and air," according to documents filed with DC's Board of Zoning Adjustment last year.
The development, designed by StudioMB, will also have 2,250 square feet of retail space.
