Property Showings in DC Are Back to 2019 Levels

While mixed results from the second "reopening" phase just led to a mandatory mask order in DC proper, real estate showings (and sales) are still on the upswing. Below, UrbanTurf takes another look at how in-person home showings are trending in the area.
In-person property showings nationwide were 10.6% higher for the week ending July 26th than the pre-pandemic high for the year, according to new data from ShowingTime, and 14.4% higher than the same timeframe last year.

DC showings rebounded significantly last month, exceeding the averages from June 2019; for the week ending July 26th, showings are roughly on par with the showing activity for the same week last year. The past week's showings exceeded this year's weekly averages by nearly 23%.
Showings in Virginia have also rebounded, exceeding the pre-pandemic high over the last week by 5.3%. Maryland has had the strongest rebound in the region, with property showings over the week ending July 26th 8.6% higher than this year's pre-pandemic high and 7% higher than those observed over the same time last year.
