A pop-up hotel will open for a limited time at one of the largest new developments in the works for Tenleytown.

Placemakr announced the launch of the temporary hotel concept on Tuesday for Upton Place, a nearly 700-unit apartment building at the former Fannie Mae office building at 4000 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map)

Placemakr Cathedral Heights will operate 150 of the 689 residential units at the Upton Place development on a short-term stay basis that falls somewhere between a hotel and a traditional apartment. Studio, one- and two-bedroom units that include full kitchens and laundry will be available, with onsite staff and hospitality services included for tenants.

The Placemakr concept operates hotel units at residential buildings which have just delivered so that developers have a reliable stream of revenue while they are leasing apartments. Placemakr currently operates five other concepts at various buildings around DC.
