There are new images for a ten-story, 133-unit building in Mount Vernon Triangle that UrbanTurf has learned will deliver in the second quarter of next year.

The development, which received approval from the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) earlier this year, will be located at 1031 4th Street NW (map). The project, from Blue Skye Housing, Paramount Development and Ellisdale Construction, will have ground-floor retail as well as a roof deck.

New renderings of the development, designed by the BKV Group, show off the lobby, residences and the building rooftop. Here is a time lapse of the building’s construction.

The exterior looks like moderately adventurous public housing, not a new market-rate building in a sought-after part of town. Let's hope it's that rare building which looks better in reality than in the renderings. Or, perhaps even better, that it actually is public housing, or at least has a high percentage of affordable units.
