With the spring housing market in full swing, UrbanTurf is taking its annual look at the neighborhood markets around the DC region. Today we head over to what might be the busiest market in the city right now.
The 20012 zip code -- home to neighborhoods including Takoma, Colonial Village and Shepherd Park -- seems to be firing on all cylinders in 2024. Home prices are up significantly in 20012, with the average price for large detached homes rising above $1.15 million for the first time. Despite the increase in prices, home sales are up 50% in the first four months compared to the same period in 2023, with about half of homes selling in ten days or less.
