"I Wish the Real World Would Just Stop Hassling Me"
The Matchbox 20 lyric actually has a fair amount of relevance to this post. A number of DC-based blogs (DCist and Wonkette, among others) are reporting the unfortunate news that the cast of MTV’s The Real World will soon be moving into the enormous brick house that you have probably passed on the corner of 20th and S Streets.
Very little sales or property history is available for 2000 S Street NW (see map here) in MRIS or the DC Real Property Search, but it appears to be the former office space for Sorg Architects, who helped design The Murano and The Visio condos in DC.
We passed by the house this weekend and saw construction crews hard at work, and last week there were two enormous trailers outside filled with tacky furniture. What further proof do you need?
- Update: ANC Commissioner Mike Feldstein has confirmed that this is indeed the house. Filming starts on June 20th and will go until November.
