How Much Home Prices And Rents In The DC Area Have Risen Since The Pandemic

Newly released data illustrates how much rents and home prices in the DC area have risen since the pandemic.
A new Zillow report finds that home values and rents around the country rose twice as fast as normal since 2020.

"The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic five years ago was the catalyst for massive changes in the housing market," Zillow reported. "Since then, home values across the U.S. have surged by 45.3%, packing more than a decade’s worth of typical growth into just five years."
In the DC region, home values are up 31% since February 2020, while rents are up about 23%. For a more granular look at home prices in the area over the last decade, take a look at the analysis that UrbanTurf did earlier this month.
