The Deputy Mayor’s Office for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) has chosen Roadside Development and Dantes Partners to develop a city-owned lot at 8th and O Street NW, according to a press release issued Tuesday.
Here is a quick rundown of the team’s proposal for 1336 8th Street NW (map) as it was presented to the community in July:
- Number of units: Approximately 70 condos
- Expected delivery: Mid-2017
- Retail: 6,900 square feet of retail
- Architect: Shalom Baranes Associates
Roadside developed the nearby City Market at O, and residents of the proposed project would have the option of opting into that project’s amenities. The 8th Street side of the development would also have two-story townhouses with roof decks.
The request for proposals was issued by DMPED in December 2013. The team of Roadside and Dantes Partners was one of four on a short list that presented to the community in early July. The other teams included A&R Development and the Urban Group, Four Points LLC and the Warrenton Group, and Madison Investments and Audubon Enterprises. For a look at the other proposals, click here.
