Best Open Houses: Bloomingdale and Mount Pleasant
In this week’s edition of Best Open Houses, we feature a four-bedroom row house with an in-law suite in Bloomingdale and a one-bedroom in Mount Pleasant that has monthly mortgage payments equal to the rental rate for a similar-sized unit in the neighborhood.
Four-Bedroom Row House With Rental Unit in Bloomingdale
134 Randolph Place NW (map)
If living in Bloomingdale now interests you after reading our profile of the neighborhood earlier this week, then this four-bedroom home will only bolster that feeling. The Victorian bayfront home has a lot of its original details, not to mention a ton of space. There is also a basement in-law suite that is currently being rented for $1,025/month and a nice back patio. The open house is Sunday, April 11th from 1 to 3pm. For the full listing, click here.
Alternative to Renting: One-Bedroom Condo in Mount Pleasant
1615 Kenyon Street NW, #44 (map)
At 650 square feet, this one-bedroom in Mount Pleasant is by no means large, but the layout is such that there is a separate living room and dining area, a rarity for units this small in DC. The 4th-floor condo also offers a lot of light and views of the National Cathedral as well as hardwood floors throughout. Monthly payments would be about $1,800, the same rate that the unit is currently being rented for. The open house is Sunday, April 11th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.
