Best New Listings: An Elegant Rowhouse, A Top-Floor Unit, and A Craftsman
In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, UrbanTurf looks at a wider-than-typical Capitol Hill rowhouse, a top-floor unit in Dupont, and a craftsman-like home in Mount Pleasant.
Top Floor Unit At 17th and T
One of the benefits to being on the top floor is not having any neighbors stomping around overhead; another is the possibility of having a skylight that will bring more light into the home. This corner unit has both, and is brightly lit on the sides as well. Located at 17th and T Streets NW, it is convenient to Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle and the U Street Corridor. Interestingly, it looks as though in lieu of tiling in the kitchen, someone decided to install mirrors.

Craftsman Convenient to the Park
This craftsman-style rowhouse was built in 1921, and has many elements typical of the era, like a wide front porch and wooden detailing, which can be seen on the staircase and around the fireplace, doors and windows. The Mount Pleasant home is one block from Rock Creek Park, and has many extra rooms: a family room is tucked away near the kitchen, and an office space, surrounded by windows, is attached to the master bedroom. Because of the slope in the ground, a finished lower level leads directly out to the backyard.

A Wide And Elegant Capitol Hill Rowhouse
Renovated in 2002, this Capitol Hill home is wider than the typical DC rowhouse that buyers will find in DC. The listing has a high-end feel to it with elegant details that mark the ceiling, and chandeliers that hang in the dining room and living room. The carriage house in the back is a nice addition — it has been set up as a garage on the first floor and a bedroom on the second. As for other features, UrbanTurf liked the black and white checked floor of the foyer, and the private, fenced-in garden in the backyard.
