Webster House
When Bob Woodward’s old Dupont Circle apartment hit the market in April, UrbanTurf was giddy with excitement.
Woodward lived in the studio when he was a young Washington Post reporter breaking open the Watergate scandal. As fans of All the President’s Men, staff at this online publication were envious of the eventual buyer who we imagined reenacting Woodward’s thoughtful pacing throughout the 500-square-foot during the scandal, and maybe even sticking a flag in a strategically placed flowerpot from time to time. (Woodward used the signal to communicate with Deep Throat when he wanted to have a conversation with the famously discreet source.)
The studio was not in very good shape; it was just a shell and needed a full makeover. In May, the price dropped from $215,000 to $200,000, and the unit soon found a buyer. UrbanTurf has learned that the new owner is renovating the unit, and hopefully soaking up its investigative vibes.
