Fans of Banana Republic will be saddened by this news.
Yoga clothing and accessory company Alo Yoga appears to be taking over the prime Georgetown retail space currently occupied by Banana Republic at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street NW. Banana Republic has been at the M Street location for well over a decade, but recent retail closures were a sign that the end might be near. In December, the Gap location just north on Wisconsin Avenue closed its doors, and a few weeks ago, news came that the Penn Quarter location of Banana Republic was shuttering.
No word on when Banana Republic will close the Georgetown location.
