Thousands of miles away, a replica of the White House has come on the market with a lofty price tag attached.
Nearly a century ago, newspaper heir George Hearst commissioned architect Julia Morgan to reimagine his home outside of San Francisco into the presidential residence. Now, that 11-bedroom home has been listed for sale for just shy of $39 million with Alex Buljan of Compass.

Unlike replicas of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in the DC region, the Western White House has several replicated rooms found in the White House, including an East room (which serves as a living room), rose gardens around the home, and, of course, an Oval Office.
"The house as it was originally built has not been changed," Buljan told UrbanTurf. "Structurally, everything is almost 99% how Julia Morgan designed it."
A 12,000 square foot replica of The White House in Virginia sold a couple years ago. That home was designed and built in 1995 by a Vietnam refugee as a way to pay homage to the United States.
