It has been awhile since we have seen any new residential development pitched for the H Street Corridor, but an 80-unit residential development will change that.
Plans filed with DC's Board of Zoning Adjustment this week outline details and provide the first images for a large new residential project pitched for the 1000 block of H Street NE. Bisnow reported earlier this week that DC-based developer District Growth had acquired a row of low-slung properties at 1000-1016 H Street NE with plans for a 70-80 unit development.

The proposed project, designed by Akseizer Design Group, would be a five-story, 80-unit residential apartment building that will incorporate the existing building façades along H Street into the design. The primary residential entrance will be located at the center of the building along H Street NE, and the cellar floor will house a gym and clubroom/amenity.
This new development isn't the only large residential project in the works for the strip that for years was the busiest development corridor in DC. A five-level, 50-unit residential development was proposed for the 1300 block of H Street NE back in May.
