A Dozen in Petworth: 12-Unit Condo Project Planned Along Georgia Avenue
A new 12-unit condo development is on the boards for a site several blocks north of the Petworth Metro station.
A developer is proposing to raze the existing building at 4402 Georgia Avenue NW (map) and build a new four-story residential building with a cellar level. The Dasol Engineer Architects development will consist of one- and two-bedroom units. The development team is looking for relief from the project parking requirements.

"Ordinarily, two parking spaces would be required for 12 units; however, the proximity to the Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro, as well as the Route 70 bus line permits a 50% reduction in the number of parking spaces, resulting in a requirement of one space," according to an application filed with Board of Zoning Adjustment. "The property has been consistently used for various commercial purposes and no parking was provided for that use, or any previous use, as it is not physically possible to put parking spaces on the Property given the site restraints."
