A 3,300 Square Foot Suite, A 250-Inch Outdoor TV: $25 Million McLean Mansion Finds a Buyer
The luxury housing market in the DC region is starting off 2024 much like it ended 2023. With a bang.
UrbanTurf has learned that the ten-bedroom newly-built mansion in McLean, Virginia (map) known as Chateau du Soleil has found a buyer at a list price of $25 million. The 22,000 square-foot home listed with Mark Lowham of TTR Sotheby's International Realty went under contract with contingencies on Monday.

Chateau do Soleil, which UrbanTurf has covered as it was constructed by The Building Group over the last three years, has features that put even the most luxurious residences in the DC region to shame.
For example, there is a 250-inch outdoor television surrounded by a pool, fire bowls, fountains and a waterfall. Inside, the owner's suite spreads out over 3,300 square feet with an 1,100 square-foot, two-level closet; there is also a grand ballroom inspired by the Palace of Versailles.
The amenity list in the home also includes a massage room, sauna, fitness center, private hair salon, safe room, three wet bars, a wine cellar, card room, and a professional home cinema.
The last month has been a busy one at the upper reaches of the regional housing market. In mid-December, a mansion along Embassy Row sold to the country of Ireland for $12 million. At the end of the month, the penthouse duplex at the Residences at Harbourside (map) in Georgetown closed for $8.6 million, one of the most expensive condo sales of the year.
