Edens Plans a New 300-Unit Building at Union Market
Edens has plans in the works for a new 300-unit residential development at Union Market.
The developer is working on the design for a residential companion building to the Union Market ("South") building at 1309 5th Street NE (map), with plans to file a second-stage PUD application. The North building would contain roughly 300 apartments above retail and three below-grade levels of parking. A plaza would also be created between the two buildings.

While a first-stage PUD for the development included the addition of loft office space and a movie theater above the Union Market building, those plans are currently on hold, however there are plans in the works to activate the roof of this building in the near-term.
Edens plans to return to the ANC with a presentation of the design for the North building and file for the second-stage PUD within the next two months.
