A few blocks from a new condo project that UrbanTurf reported on last week comes another new development where all the residences are affordable to households earning up to 50% of area median income.
Lock7 Development is developing the 66-unit, all-affordable building next door to the Juanita E. Thornton/Shepherd Park Neighborhood Library at 7428 Georgia Avenue NW (map). The unit mix will span from studios to three-bedrooms.
The project will provide a handful of parking spaces, plus carshare spaces, and amenities will include a gym and a lounge. The building will also have a rooftop solar array. Torti Gallas is the architect.
The development team has already filed raze applications for the two-story multifamily buildings from 7428-7434 Georgia Avenue in anticipation of breaking ground the first quarter of next year.
