A 390-unit residential development planned near downtown Silver Spring is set to go before the Montgomery County Development Review Committee next month.
JLB Realty has plans in the works to redevelop the site at 9801 Georgia Avenue (map) into a large residential development with parking, private amenities, and approximately 5,000 square feet of retail. The building was designed by Moya Design Partners.

One of the more prominent features of the project will be a public plaza that will run along Forest Glen Road, adjacent to Georgia Avenue.
"This space is envisioned to become a public gathering space, where commuters as well as residents of the adjacent community can come to interact, run errands, and enjoy a cup of coffee," documents filed with Montgomery County stated. "The design for this open space creates a series of stepped terraces with each terrace having a slightly different character, although each will have full access to the surrounding streetscapes."
