32 Townhomes Pitched For Offices Near Alexandria Waterfront

Plans are in the works to replace a pair of Alexandria office buildings with a new townhouse development.
Simpson Development Co. and EYA will take a plan for a new 32-townhome development at the site of a pair of office buildings at 333 North Fairfax Street (map) to the city's Board of Architectural Review in September.
The new townhomes will replace a pair of four- and five-story office buildings bounded by Queen Street, North Lee Street, Princess Street and North Fairfax Street about a block from Founders Park along the waterfront. Simpson Development has owned the two office buildings for nearly 60 years.
The new project adds to the growing list of new developments in the works for Alexandria. Here is a sampling:
