DC had to wait longer than usual for a new uber high-priced DC home to hit the market, but that wait ended on Friday.
An eight-bedroom, 15,000 square-foot estate in Wesley Heights hit the market for $18 million, making it the second most expensive home to be publicly listed for sale in the District.
Foyer
The stone home at 3005 45th Street NW (map) was built in 1927 on a half acre of land that features trappings including a 50-foot heated pool, a pool/guest house and even a putting green. The interior of the home is large enough that there are formal entertaining areas including a formal dining room and conservatory as well as more relaxed spaces like a large family room.
Dining room.
The eight bedrooms are peppered around the upper levels of the home, the largest of those being a master suite with an enormous dressing room. Throughout the home are five fireplaces, a catering kitchen, an exercise room, a wine cellar and a theatre set-up on the lower level. The house, which is listed with Chuck Holzwarth of Washington Fine Properties, also comes with two garages for up to three cars.
