A seven-bedroom home along the banks of the Potomac River has found a buyer, and the listing's land may have been the driving factor.
1260 Crest Lane (map), on the market for $15.5 million with Piper Yerks and Ben Roth of Washington Fine Properties, went under contract with contingencies earlier this week. Dubbed the Stratford House, the property had not been listed for sale in decades prior to going on the market last year.

As originally reported by The Wall Street Journal, the loftiness of the listing price has much more to do with the land rather than the home itself. Lots like this one in McLean along the Potomac can fetch upwards of $20 million. The listing sits on four acres and has roughly 215 feet of frontage along the river.
