Four years after being pitched, a new development along Mt. Pleasant's main drag is looking to start construction.
In 2020, DC's Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) approved a concept to retrofit the Mount Pleasant laundromat at 3215 Mount Pleasant Street NW (map) into a 15-unit residential project. Eat DC recently reported that building permits have been filed for this development.
Velocity Property Management has plans to restore the laundromat façade and add three stories to deliver 15 residential units and 1,420 square feet of ground-floor retail. Two of the units would be inclusionary zoning (IZ). KASA Architecture is the designer.
