What You Can Buy At The Beach

In honor of the steamy weather and the holiday, UrbanTurf decided to take a break from the city and see what cool properties were available at nearby beaches. Here are a few properties currently for sale in Delaware at Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and Lewes.

Opulence in Dewey Beach
This beach mansion has everything you might imagine in a typical oceanfront property, like walls of windows, frilly ceiling fans, colorful rooms, two huge decks, and a private walkway to the beach. Its open floor plan and six bedrooms, make it seem like a not too-shabby place to host a family reunion or a large reunion. While Dewey is known more for its party atmosphere than anything else, this home seems far enough a way from that scene for a family to enjoy it.

- Price: $3.295 million
- Bedrooms: Six
- Bathrooms: Six
- Year Built: 1988

Reasonably Priced Abode in Rehoboth
For the price of a condo in the middle of DC, you can have a three-bedroom house at Rehoboth Beach, a couple miles from the boardwalk and beachfront. The cozy house, which is fairly close to the canal, has a nice back deck and yard, and the rooms have a neon and pastel theme that makes them pop. The lowest-priced home featured, this could be a good option for someone that doesn’t need to be right near the beach.
- Full listing: 37361 8th Street, Rehoboth Beach (map)
- Price: $499,000
- Bedrooms: Three
- Bathrooms: 2.5

Revolutionary-Era Feel in Lewes
DC isn’t the only place that has historic preservation on the mind; this little home in Lewes was built in 1760 and has a log cabin-eqsue feel, with exposed ceder walls and beams. An addition was built in 1995, and the historic part of the home was restored around the same time. The house is considerably closer to the beach than the Rehoboth home, but has a correspondingly higher price tag.

- Price: $760,000
- Bedrooms: Three
- Bathrooms: 2.5
