The Spring Valley house that investor Warren Buffett lived in when he was a teenager in DC hit the market last Thursday and found a buyer just about 72 hours later.

Buffett called the five-bedroom listing at 4211 49th Street NW (map) home when his father, Howard Buffett, served in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 1940s. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and, while there, was already showing flashes of the enterprising mind that became the key to his success. He ran a business selling soft drinks, earned $175 a month as a paperboy and even sold his own horse-racing tip sheet. The year he filed his first tax return, Buffett claimed his bike and watch as tax deductions.

The home, listed with Joan Cromwell of TTR Sotheby's International Realty for $2.395 million, was renovated 10 years ago by the previous owners, but the sellers have made substantial updates in recent years.
