This installment of Under Contract revisits three recently-featured listings with interesting architectural details that each went under contract within six to 12 days.
12 Days for a Co-Op with Confessional Closet
This Kalorama co-op spent twice as long on the market as the other listings featured today, but arguably has twice the eye-catching architectural details, down to the scrollwork framing the doorjamb. In the spacious hall, a wooden walk-in confessional closet is built-in floor-to-ceiling and sports ornate molding and three archtop doors with leaded windows. A double-sided breakfast bar peninsula turns into the kitchen, which has a cherry-red subway tile backsplash and an exposed brick column in the far corner. Both of the bedrooms are comparably-sized and have stained-glass clerestory windows; the rear bedroom also has a bay window and a closet wall. The bathroom has a stained-glass transom above the door, a set of framed recessed shelving, and a clawfoot bathtub.

The front porch has a ceiling fan, and past the checkerboard-floored vestibule, the living room has a wide arch that frames an inglenook wood-burning fireplace between built-in shelving. French doors lead from the living room into the formal dining room, and a breakfast room/den off the kitchen has a glass block window and french doors out to a slate patio with a pergola and raised gardens. The owner's en-suite bath has a skylight, and another bedroom upstairs has a sleeping porch with glass block window. The top floor serves as a bonus room, and the lower level has another bedroom, a full bath, and a second kitchen and laundry room. The house also has a detached garage.

Six Days for a Mid-Century Split-Level
Over in Bethesda, this mid-century four-bedroom has a pseudo-split level style combined with updated finishes. The open-concept main level has a tall, half-cove ceiling with a skylight above the living/dining area and another skylight above the kitchen, which also has a walnut-topped bar on three sides of the island. Up a handful of steps, the landing creates a gallery open to the main level, and this space houses the owner's suite and a pair of bedrooms with a jack-and-jill bathroom. The lower level has an office/bonus room with exterior access and an additional bedroom suite, as well as a rec room with concrete floors. On the other side of the lower level, a family room has a painted brick wall with a recessed fireplace beside sliding glass doors out to the flagstone patio and surrounding yard.
