This week's Under Contract features three recently featured listings that went under contract in five days or less.
Five Days For a Takoma Park Garden Getaway
We described this three-bedroom Takoma Park listing as a garden lover's ideal spot and the buyer who snapped it up in five days may feel the same way. The yard is landscaped with a variety of shrubs, flowers, ferns, fruit trees and a spacious grassy area, as well as a 130-year-old pecan tree. The listing has an open concept kitchen with a breakfast nook that leads to an outdoor patio area via doors that were reclaimed from the historic Harolds Rogue and Jar Jazz and Blues Club. Tilted skylights around the house ensure that plenty of natural light floods the living space, and the library features built-in bookcases so future owners can display their favorite titles. The listing also comes with a bit of a bonus: blueprints to turn the one-car garage out back into a tiny house.

Just a Few Days for a Del Ray Bungalow
This Alexandria bungalow, which also went under contract in five days, was reimagined as part of the Sears Modern Homes project, which ran from 1908 to 1940 and offered buyers access to the top technology available at that time via mail order kits shipped with a boxcar. At the front of the home, there is a converted sunroom with French doors that open to the outdoors, creating a patio feel. In the back of the home, there are floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views out to the garden and stone patio. Not only does the property come with a one-car garage and long driveway, but it also features a utility shed and a basement wine cellar. Upstairs, the primary bedroom suite includes a bathroom with a double sink and extra large shower.

A Find in Five Days
It wasn't long after we wrote about this intriguing home last week that it went under contract. Built around the beginning of the 20th century, this three-story Georgetown home along the canal has an interesting layout. The first floor has been a hair salon for decades while the upper levels are a bit of a blank canvas, but feature the original wood floors, exposed brick, the same black wooden ceiling beams as the commercial unit, and windows that offer views of the canal. Like the listings above, it went under contract in five days.
