Almost a year after a proposal was floated for the nearly four-acre site on and around the former Red Cross building on Arlington Boulevard, more details are emerging for the Trenton Street Residences.
Wesley Housing Development Corporation is applying to up-zone the parcels at 4333 Arlington Boulevard (map), enabling the developer to deliver a five-story apartment building and two rows with 19 three-story townhouses.
Since our last look at the plans, the scope of development has grown ever so slightly, putting 115 apartments on the boards instead of 112. Also, all 19 of the townhouses will have three bedrooms, a loft and 3.5 baths rather than there being a mix of two-bed, 1.5 bath and three-bed, 2.5 bath houses.

Of the apartments, there will be 9 studios, 29 one-bedrooms, 69 two-bedrooms and 8 three-bedrooms. The multi-family building will have a ground-floor amenity overlooking a communal courtyard; each townhouse will have a terrace just beyond the loft area.
Bonstra|Haresign is the development architect; WC Ralston is designing the townhouses. Arlington County's Site Plan Review Committee is currently reviewing the plans.
