If you’ve walked down U Street NW between 16th and 17th Street, chances are that you have strolled on by the old firehouse where This Week’s Find is located, without even realizing that it is there.

Old Firehouse No. 9 last served as a fire department back in the late 19th century. In the 1980s, it was converted into a 13-unit condo project on three levels with commercial space on the ground floor.

The listing itself is a walk-up penthouse with an interesting layout. The floorplan has the kitchen and dining space on one level, and then a step-up living room with a wood burning fireplace.
