This Week's Find: Breezy Contemporary Interior in a Capitol Hill Row House
Living Room
Many renovated Capitol Hill row houses have modern elements, but This Week’s Find’s open, linear, airy interior feels particularly bold. The four-bedroom home was developed by Ditto Residential, who hired Chuong Cao and Giang Dinh of DEP Designs to turn a dated interior into something completely contemporary.
Master Bathroom
First, they opened up the first floor, and now from the front door, you can see all the way to the back of the house, which is amply outfitted with windows. Using materials from local shops, they splurged on a red oak, floating staircase with a steel and glass custom handrail that floats in the living room.
Next, the master suite was brightened up and simplified. The 4-by-4 foot skylight and bay windows in the bedroom give the room a lot of light, and the black and white bathroom is clean and minimal.
The kitchen is also on the black and white spectrum, with gray counters, white cabinets and stainless steel appliances. The stone countertop has marbling that follows the length of the already long island, creating a very stretched out look.
The developer hired a landscape architect to finish the backyard space, which has a simple deck, lawn, a border of greenery and a stone path leading to the carriage house.
More details and photos below.
Update: Good things apparently go fast. This home went under contract late yesterday.
