The living space of a converted church
Churches aren’t normally described as having an updated kitchen, an open floor living space and four bedrooms with three walk-in closets. However, for $15.6 million you can live in This Week’s Find that has all those features: a London church that has been converted into a 6,000 square-foot home.

Stained glass windows are worked into the home’s new design.
The home features marbled archways and a large open kitchen with a stove that has eight burners and two ovens. The floors are heated and a fireplace in the living space adds extra warmth on the ground floor. A winding staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms which are split between the first and second floors. Many of the bedrooms are laid out around jutting beams and archways. Outside, there is a patio with a waterfall and the home also features a gym.

The living space of the home is open and features a fireplace and large kitchen.
The property retains many of its original features, like an older brick exterior, stained glass windows with images of Jesus and the Disciples, and arches with biblical references. The older architecture of the building adds a contrast to the modern renovations and gives rooms a funkier shape which only adds to the hip design the renovators used.

A bedroom is designed to emphasize the arches.
Environmentally-minded buyers may want to look elsewhere, however. The property scored an F on its energy performance certificate, a required assessment in England for homes with four or more bedrooms. A is efficient and D is about average, for reference.

The high ceilings and older architecture contribute to the home’s energy inefficiency.
