A significant number of homes sold for above asking price in DC last year.
Approximately 34% of homes sold in the city fetched more than their asking price, based on data provided to UrbanTurf by Bright MLS. This is the same proportion of homes to sell for above list in 2021, and up from 30% of homes selling at a premium in 2020, and just 10% in 2019.
Of the neighborhoods with more than 30 sales, AU Park (58%), Michigan Park (57%) and Chevy Chase DC (55%) led the way in terms of the places with the highest volume of homes selling at a premium, and thus were likely some of the city's most competitive markets.
