The zip code where home values have risen the most this year is 20814, which encompasses downtown Bethesda and the surrounding neighborhoods. Rising prices for 4-bedroom detached houses, as well as condos and co-ops drove appreciation up nearly 20%. The next area -- the Rockville zip code of 20852 -- saw prices rise 12% thanks also to prices increasing for larger detached houses.
The list is rounded out with three zip codes -- home to areas of Bethesda, Langley Park and portions of Silver Spring -- that all saw home values rise by around 10%-11%.
