Our recent look at the September housing market in the DC region found that the number of homes to go under contract rose notably compared to last fall, with the caveat that rising mortgage rates would likely result in that not continuing in October.
Today, we look at some of the interesting metrics at play that defined the market last month.

- $599,000 -- The median price for a home in the DC area, an increase of 9% year-over-year.
- 1 -- The number of jurisdictions where home prices fell compared to last year (DC -3.2%).
- 7,902 -- The number of active listings in July, up 19% compared to a year ago.
- 4,497 -- The number of pending home sales in September, up 15% year-over-year.
- 11 -- The median number of days that homes are spending on the market.
