Along with the constant trickle of news about the coronavirus pandemic and how to avoid its spread, a lot of misinformation is getting out.
One example was uncovered this weekend, when debunked myths about coronavirus transmission were distributed at a cooperative community in Southwest DC.
City Lab writer Kriston Capps tweeted that the property management company for the building distributed a "test" that included such assurances that, if you can hold your breath for at least ten seconds without coughing or discomfort, you are not infected with the virus.

The distributed guidance also recommends drinking water regularly to wash the virus down your throat and enable your stomach acids to kill it, purporting that if your mouth is dry, the virus can enter your lungs instead.
The recommendations, that have since been debunked, seem to have been sourced from a Facebook post. One respondent to the thread noted that this happened at their co-op building and management retracted the "test" after residents complained.
