In 2017, UrbanTurf reported on the sale of the former Medhane Alem Eritrean Church at 150 S Street NW (map). Now, following the edifice being razed under potentially illegal circumstances, plans for the future of the site are coming into focus.

Kadida Development Group has applied to the Historic Preservation Review Board for concept review of the residential development slated for the site. Eight townhouse-style units are proposed, likely three-bedrooms if the plans hew to what was proposed when the property sold. Arcadia Design is the architect.

The developer is expected to present the plans to a meeting of the Bloomingdale Civic Association on Monday. The HPRB will review the project at their March 28th meeting. Additional renderings are below.
