Report: The DC Region Has More Tech Job Openings Than Silicon Valley
It appears that Silicon Valley is losing job openings to the DC region.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that DC and New York currently have more openings for software developers than tech-heavy California markets, as "non-technology companies load up on engineering talent."

"There were 2,369 software-engineering job postings in the San Francisco metro area and 2,084 around San Jose, Calif., which includes Silicon Valley, at the end of last year," The Wall Street Journal wrote. "Some 3,815 jobs were posted in the Washington, D.C., region and 3,325 in the New York metro area at that time, according to an analysis of listings by Vertis AI Inc., a workplace-data company."
The article goes on to say that financial institutions in New York hiring technology talent, along with major corporations’ expanding to DC, are driving demand.
