Two Fully Reimagined Colonial Homes Hit the Market in Spring Valley

Spring Valley rarely has new homes on the market. The Spring Valley West neighborhood — one of DC's most established and sought-after — hasn't seen significant new construction since W.C. and A.N. Miller Companies built homes there in the 1980s and 1990s. But now, through a series of events spanning two decades, a pair of homes with completely reimagined and renovated interiors are now for sale.
The Yuma Residences — located at 5117 and 5119 Yuma Street — are a pair of refined residences reimagined by District495, in collaboration with architect MCD Studio and interior designer Martha Vicas of Sophiste. Behind brick-front colonial exteriors, they offer luxury, thoughtful design and craftsmanship.
The nearly 4,600 square-foot, five-bedroom, six-bath home at 5117 Yuma Street is priced at $3.295 million, while 5119 Yuma Street, a 6,039 square-foot, five-bedroom, seven-bath residence, is asking $4.295M. Both homes are being sold by Mike Aubrey of The Mike Aubrey Group. Aubrey can be contacted at 301-873-9807 or mike@mikeaubrey.com.
The story behind the pair of homes spans more than two decades. The original owner of 5119 Yuma Street (built by W.C. and A.N. Miller in 1987) gradually acquired the neighboring home at 5117 Yuma Street, as well as two properties on Albemarle Street. Developer District495 later purchased the entire collection and divided it into two distinct projects: The Yuma Residences, now available for sale, and The Grove at Spring Valley, three ground-up homes slated to begin delivering in August 2026.
The Yuma Residences are united in character, both inside and out. Inside, the homes share a coherent design: high ceilings, clean architectural lines, and interiors layered in soft neutrals and natural textures. Bespoke millwork, white oak flooring, and carefully chosen lighting create a warm, tailored atmosphere throughout.
The finishes are consistently high-end. Kitchens are anchored by Thermador appliances; Waterworks fixtures in the bathrooms; and Nest smart home devices can be found throughout the homes. Outside, both residences feature professionally landscaped rear yards with significant hardscaping.
The Yuma Residences are ideally located in Spring Valley, within walking distance of neighborhood favorites including Millie's, Bluestone Lane Spring Valley Café, Starbucks, CVS and Wagshals Market.
