REDC Hosting Housing Auction in DC
The Real Estate Disposition Corporation (REDC) is having a three-day auction for 885 properties spread across DC, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware from March 12th to March 15th. The event actually comprises five individual auctions, two of which are in DC and will presumably feature the properties that are in the DC metro area. REDC representatives told UrbanTurf that 32 properties within DC proper will be auctioned off on Sunday, March 15th at the Washington Convention Center. Most of the properties are located on the outskirts of Capitol Hill and in Trinidad and Anacostia, and look to be in need of a lot of work.
As for other cities and counties in the area, the website search indicates that there are 17 properties in Alexandria, 6 in Arlington, 3 in Falls Church, 16 in Prince George’s, 40 in Montgomery County, 34 in Fairfax County, 45 in Prince William County, and 11 in Loudoun.
Before bidding on any of these properties, be sure to read the fine print. This post highlights some of the reasons why bidders should be wary. The comments to that post are helpful, too.
